Tell Your Story Tuesday...Challenge #6

You can choose the age at which to “send” the letter—it can be at 6, at 16, or at 26 (it depends on how old you are now) Choose an age at which you had a lot of choices to make, or that was hard for you. Write a letter to yourself, make a scrapbook page, write a poem, or you can even write a song about it.

I actually decided to scrapbook this and thought it might be fun actually to scrapbook this entire challenge.  So I'll update the last 5 as I get those pages done, make sure to check back for that.

If you could write a letter and send it to yourself when you were younger, what would you say?

Dear 18 Year Old Me,

Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up.  It’s really not as exciting as you think it will be.  Along with all that “freedom” you can’t wait to get, comes a LOT of responsibility that you’ll wish you didn’t have!

Be confident in who you are.  You are stronger than you know, and don’t need anyone else to validate you.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Don’t sweat the small stuff, pick your battles.  And don’t lose hope in times of trouble, God won’t bring you more than He can handle.  Trust Him.  You WILL make it through and then wonder later why you thought it was so hard to begin with.

Don’t be so insecure about your looks.  Beauty really is skin deep, a beautiful heart radiates from within.  Besides there are and will be plenty of people that think you’re beautiful just as you, and the rest have bad taste! ;-)

Try to be more intentional about your walk with God.  And don’t be in such a hurry to make big decisions, consult Him in all things, He really does know you better than you know yourself, and what is best for you.

Stay true to your values and don’t ever compromise.

Always remember Boys are Dumb!  Although you’ll find a few you really like, that are actually pretty good guys, they’re ALL still dumb.  Some just to differing degrees, but Boys are Dumb.

Speaking of boys, don’t worry there is one out there that has already been hand-picked for you.  Be patient.  He’s AMAZING….but yes still dumb sometimes! ;-)

DON’T use credit, if you can help it!  Save up and pay cash, if you can’t afford it, you don’t really need it.  Debt is Dumb!  Dumber than boys even!

Remember to tell people you love them, don’t always assume they know.

You may not always have everything you “want” but you will be blessed beyond what you can imagine now and will have everything you “need.”

Love,
Me

Here's the page I scrapped for this one:
